Bodrum is one of the busiest destinations for private jets in Türkiye. Every summer thousands of business aircraft land at Milas Bodrum Airport, code BJV, bringing guests to the villas of Yalıkavak and Türkbükü, the resorts of Torba and Kaplankaya and the superyachts moored along the peninsula. The airport lies about 36 kilometres north east of Bodrum town and has a terminal reserved for private flights; a jet from London takes about four hours.
Traffic at Bodrum rises and falls with the season more sharply than almost anywhere in Europe, and that rhythm decides both the price of a charter and the supply of empty legs. We book the slot, the stand and the transfer to the villa or the yacht together with the flight.

Bodrum sectors available today
The first list gathers every sector we hold into or out of Milas Bodrum Airport, and adds flights into Dalaman and Izmir when Bodrum itself is quiet. Below it sit the prices for chartering those same jets outright, which show how much a released sector saves against a flight booked around your holiday.
Ask us what is available at Bodrum right now.
This board refreshes through the day as operators release sectors, and it shows only part of the market: a large share of repositioning flights never reach a public list at all. Check back shortly, or tell us your route and dates and we will look at what operators are holding at this moment.

Both columns assume an aircraft already at the departure airport, so no positioning flight is billed. Where an operator has to fly one in to collect you, a charter can run considerably higher than the figure shown. Prices also run in both directions: an empty leg exists only when an operator is moving that aircraft anyway, so the sector you want may run the other way this month. Tell us the route and we will watch both directions for you.
Set up an alert for Bodrum
Most empty legs are gone within hours of being released, and a good number are never published at all. Tell us the route and the window you can travel in, and we will message you the moment a matching sector comes up between the UK and Bodrum.
Please fill in both the departure and the arrival city.
Nothing is stored on this site. The button opens a chat with the message already written, and you send it yourself. We reply during office hours, 07:00 to 23:00, and check messages outside them too.
Why Bodrum releases so many empty legs
From April to October Bodrum handles a remarkable number of private jets. The pattern of that traffic explains why so many aircraft leave the peninsula without passengers.
A season packed into the summer
Traffic builds from April, peaks from June to August and fades in October. In August 2026 the airport handled 7,963 aircraft movements of all kinds and a record 319 flights on 16 August alone, and every private jet among them had to go somewhere after its drop.
Villa and yacht weeks
Families rent villas in Yalıkavak, Türkbükü and Gündoğan for a week or more, and charter guests join yachts at the marinas. Their aircraft seldom stays for the whole holiday, which creates one empty flight at the start and another at the end.
Parking that fills in summer
Short stays of two or three days are normally possible, but from April to October space on the apron becomes scarce, and a longer stay needs at least a week's notice. Many operators prefer to fly the aircraft away.
Guests from every direction
Visitors come from Istanbul, London, Paris, Milan, Athens, the Gulf and the former Soviet states. Operators based in all those places send aircraft in and out, and some of those repositioning flights head towards Britain.
Domestic legs for Turkish operators only
Many guests spend a few days in Istanbul before Bodrum or fly on to the south coast. Only Turkish companies may carry passengers on those internal hops, which leaves many British and European aircraft to cross back to their bases with the cabin empty.
Supply is strongest on Saturdays and Sundays from June to September and in the week after Kurban Bayramı, when Turkish families head home. It is thinnest from November to March, when most hotels on the peninsula close.
Milas Bodrum Airport in detail
Milas Bodrum Airport opened on 1 April 1997 and is run by TAV Airports, which took over the domestic terminal in July 2014 and the international terminal in October 2015 under a concession that lasts until December 2037.
Codes
BJV (IATA) and LTFE (ICAO)
Location
Near Milas in Muğla province, about 36 kilometres north east of Bodrum town and 16 kilometres south of Milas, close to the Gulf of Güllük
Opened
1 April 1997
Runways
Two parallel concrete runways, the main one 3,000 metres long, able to take any business jet
Operator
TAV Airports, under a concession running to December 2037, with DHMİ as the state authority
Traffic
4,357,902 passengers in 2025, most of them between April and October; the Legacy 600, the Falcon 2000 and the Challenger 604 were the business jets seen most often. In August 2026 alone DHMİ counted 891,680 passengers and 7,963 aircraft movements
Private terminal
A general aviation terminal of 1,234 square metres, east of the international terminal, run by TAV
Hours
Open around the clock with no curfew
Slots
Required for every arrival and departure, and best requested as early as possible in summer
Parking
Stays of two or three days are usually possible; from April to October space is limited, and a longer stay needs at least a week of notice
Border and customs
Passport, customs and security checks in the private terminal, typically within 20 minutes from the aircraft door to the car
Fuel
Jet A1 around the clock, but aircraft are fuelled only on the day of departure
Catering
Ordered at least 24 hours ahead and changed up to 12 hours before departure; it cannot be stored at the airport
Bodrum is an easy airport for crews: two long runways close to sea level, open day and night. The real constraints are on the ground. On the busiest summer weekends and around Kurban Bayramı, which runs from 16 to 19 May in 2027, slots and parking stands become scarce, so we request both as soon as the aircraft is held.
The private terminal at Bodrum, seen from the passenger side
Private passengers at Bodrum never enter the busy airline terminals. This is what they find in the general aviation terminal and around it.
A terminal of its own
The general aviation terminal is a separate building of 1,234 square metres to the east of the international terminal, run by the airport operator TAV. The car drives up to its door, and the handler takes passengers from the lounge to the aircraft.
Four lounges
The building has a lounge for domestic flights, separate departure and arrival lounges for international flights, and a waiting room for crews and for people meeting or seeing off passengers. The lounges are quiet, with wireless internet, television and complimentary drinks and snacks.
Passport and customs
Turkish police and customs officers work inside the terminal. The whole process from the aircraft door to the car usually takes no more than 20 minutes, and in peak hours we warn you if a wait is likely.
Handling companies at Bodrum
A long list of companies handles business jets at Bodrum, among them Universal Aviation, Bilen Air, Çelebi, Havaş, TGS, Fly Service, Gözen Air, Euro Jet and Merkur Aviation. Universal runs a VIP passenger lounge and a crew lounge around the clock and arranges cars, hotels and catering, and each handler meets its passengers at the aircraft and stays with them until the car.
Bags from the hold to the villa
The handler unloads the hold and brings the bags through customs to the car, and on departure they are screened in the private terminal and loaded for you. Villa and yacht weeks mean more luggage than a city trip, so we check the hold before choosing the aircraft.
Drinks, snacks and flight catering
There is no restaurant in the private terminal, only drinks and snacks in the lounges. Meals for the flight are ordered through the handler at least 24 hours ahead, and because the airport cannot store catering, it is delivered shortly before departure.
The Primeclass lounge for airline guests
Anyone in the party travelling on a scheduled flight can use the Primeclass lounge on the mezzanine of the international terminal, after passport control, with a buffet, drinks, a terrace and a business corner. It is open around the clock in the summer season and closes in winter, and stays are limited to three hours.
Meet and assist for airline guests
Friends arriving on an airline can be met at the aircraft door or the terminal entrance by a CIP hostess who helps with the bags and the queues and walks them to the car. Agents sell this service at about 135 to 140 euros per adult on arrival and 165 to 175 euros on departure, while a one to one VIP service with a private chauffeur starts at around 650 euros; late bookings cost more.
The last hour before departure
Fuel is only loaded on the day of departure, and slots can be tight on summer evenings. Arrive about 30 minutes before the planned departure time and tell us early if the plan changes, as a missed slot can mean a long wait for a new one.
The car and the helicopter
A chauffeured car can wait at the terminal door, and the drive takes 45 minutes to Bodrum town and about an hour to Yalıkavak. Helicopters reach resorts with their own helipads, such as the Mandarin Oriental, the Six Senses at Kaplankaya and the Maxx Royal, in about 10 to 15 minutes.
How we plan a Bodrum flight
Slot and stand first. We ask the handler for the slot and, for any stay beyond two or three days, for a parking stand as soon as the aircraft is confirmed.
The operator's permit. We check that the operator holds its Turkish operating permit and flight permission well before the flight.
Domestic sectors separately. Any leg between Bodrum and Istanbul or another Turkish airport is booked with a Turkish operator.
The transfer that suits the villa. We book a car for Bodrum town, Torba and Bitez, and suggest a helicopter for Yalıkavak or Kaplankaya on a summer Saturday.
Catering on time. We order meals at least a day before departure and have the handler deliver them close to the flight, since the airport has nowhere to keep them.
Holidays in the diary. We warn you when a trip falls on Kurban Bayramı or a summer weekend, when every slot and stand is in demand.
Four things to know before booking Bodrum
Slots, stands, cabotage and the border shape almost every Bodrum booking, and we settle each one as soon as an aircraft is held.
Summer slots
Every flight needs a slot, and on Saturdays from June to August the good times go early. A flexible departure hour widens the choice of empty legs as well.
A stand for more than three days
From April to October parking is limited, and a longer stay needs at least a week of notice. Without a stand, the aircraft flies away and comes back, which is where many of our empty legs come from.
Foreign jets cannot carry domestic passengers
A British or European registered aircraft may not carry passengers between Bodrum and Istanbul or any other Turkish airport. We book those sectors with Turkish operators.
Outside Schengen
Türkiye is not in the EU or Schengen, so a day trip to Kos or another Greek island by boat means leaving Türkiye and entering Schengen, with EES checks on the Greek side.
Where Bodrum guests stay, and how long the drive takes
The Bodrum peninsula is larger than it looks, and its villages face different bays. Times below are for a car from the private terminal outside the summer rush; in July and August, and on holiday weekends, allow a fifth to a half more.

Yalıkavak Marina has 620 berths for yachts of up to 140 metres and holds the Five Gold Anchor Platinum award of The Yacht Harbour Association, so many superyacht guests fly into Bodrum. A helicopter from the airport to a hotel helipad takes roughly a quarter of the road time, and some resorts include the transfer for guests on long stays in their villas.
The extra costs of a Bodrum trip
Most airport charges at Bodrum are included in the operator's price. Four items are worth keeping in mind when you compare quotes.
Band A
UK Air Passenger Duty band for Türkiye on jets of 5.7 tonnes or more, as its capital, Ankara, lies less than 2,000 miles from London
1 per cent
Turkish accommodation tax on hotel bills until the end of 2026, after a cut from 2 per cent in May 2026
Helicopter landing
fees at hotel helipads are charged on top of the flight and vary from resort to resort
Parking
the cost that changes most in summer: when there is no stand, the jet flies away and back
Air Passenger Duty is due when the jet leaves the UK. Until the end of March 2027 aircraft of 5.7 to 20 tonnes pay 32 GBP per passenger and heavier jets 142 GBP; from April 2027 a single rate of 146.63 GBP per passenger applies to all private jets from 5.7 tonnes. Jets under 5.7 tonnes and flights from the Channel Islands pay nothing, while Scottish departures switch to the Scottish Air Departure Tax from 1 April 2027, at the same rates at first, with a supplement for private jets planned from April 2028.

Dalaman, Izmir and the other airports near Bodrum
Milas Bodrum is the only sensible airport for the peninsula, and the other three fields below are the alternatives when its slots or stands are full.
Milas Bodrum, LTFE. The airport for the whole peninsula, with a private terminal, handling around the clock and two long runways. Its only limits are summer slots and parking.
Dalaman, LTBS. About 200 kilometres to the east by road, with a 3,000 metre runway. It serves Göcek, Fethiye and Marmaris and makes an alternate when Bodrum is full, but the drive to the peninsula takes around three hours.
Izmir Adnan Menderes, LTBJ. The airport of Türkiye's third city, roughly three hours north by road, where parking for one to four days is usually easier to arrange in summer. It suits a trip that combines Ephesus, Çeşme or Alaçatı with Bodrum.
Kos, LGKO. The Greek island across the strait, reached from Bodrum by ferry in well under an hour. It lies in the EU and Schengen, so a Kos arrival means Greek border checks and a second crossing into Türkiye.
Popular routes between the UK and Bodrum, and which way they run empty
In this table every figure pays for the whole aircraft on a flight its operator has to make regardless, never for a single seat. Flying times cover the air only; the drive to the airport in Britain and to the villa on the peninsula comes on top. A four hour flight rules out the smallest jets, so the aircraft behind these figures go from the Phenom 300 and Citation CJ4 up to the twelve seat Challenger 604; that is why a longer route flown by a lighter aircraft sometimes costs less. If your dates cannot move, compare these lines with the full charter prices listed near the top.

Online calculator
If you want to see what your route would cost as a standard charter, so you have something to measure an empty leg against, use the calculator below. Fill in the airports, the dates and the number of passengers, add any preference on aircraft type, and we will send a written calculation by email or messenger. Please check your contact details carefully so that we can reply quickly.
The figure the calculator returns is an estimate for planning. The firm quote comes back from our consultants with the cost broken out line by line, and the price agreed there is the price written into the contract.
If you would rather skip the arithmetic, send us the route and the dates instead and a consultant will come back with both numbers, the charter price and any empty leg that fits.
Border and customs rules for a Bodrum holiday
The Turkish border rules are the same at Bodrum as in Istanbul, but a few points matter more on the coast, where Greek islands are only a boat ride away.
Passport. Türkiye requires at least 150 days left on a British passport from the date of arrival, plus one empty page.
Length of stay. A British holidaymaker needs no visa for Türkiye as long as the total time in the country remains within 90 days in any 180. Time spent in Türkiye is counted separately from time in Greece or elsewhere in Schengen.
Island trips. A boat to Kos or another Greek island takes you into the EU, where the EES records fingerprints and a photograph on your first crossing, and back into Türkiye on your return.
Duty free on arrival. Turkish customs let each adult bring one litre of spirits, or two litres of wine and similar drinks, together with five bottles of perfume no larger than 120 millilitres and gifts to a value of 430 euros, with separate limits for tobacco.
Cash when leaving. Lira worth more than 5,000 US dollars cannot leave Türkiye, and foreign currency above the same value must be declared.
Antiquities. The Bodrum coast is rich in ancient sites, and removing antiquities from Türkiye is a serious crime. Buy old objects only from licensed dealers who provide an export certificate.
Returning to Britain. Arriving by private jet, every adult has a 270 GBP limit for goods other than drink and tobacco. On top of that come 42 litres of beer, 18 of still wine, four of spirits and 200 cigarettes, and from 1 October 2026 sparkling wine will count within the wine limit and cider within the beer limit.
Payment. Villas, hotels, beach clubs and marinas take cards, while village markets, small boats and some taxis prefer lira in cash.

Three situations, three answers
A fortnight in a Yalıkavak villa
Land on a Saturday and reach the villa in about an hour by car or a quarter of an hour by helicopter. Fourteen days on a crowded summer apron is rarely possible, so the aircraft goes back to its base without passengers and returns the same way for your flight home, giving two chances of a released sector.
Seven nights on a yacht from the peninsula
Fly in on the morning of the charter handover and board at Yalıkavak, Bodrum or Turgutreis the same afternoon. At the end of the week the yacht can leave you at another marina, and we time the flight home from Bodrum or Dalaman to match.
Istanbul and Bodrum in one trip
Spend a few days in Istanbul, fly on to Bodrum with a Turkish operator and return to Britain from the coast. The domestic hop stays within the cabotage rules, and the international legs at each end give two chances of an empty leg.
Taking a dog or cat to Bodrum
Entering Türkiye with a pet takes some planning. The animal needs a microchip, a rabies vaccination, a blood test taken at least 30 days after the vaccination that shows at least 0.5 IU/ml of antibodies, and an export health certificate from an official vet signed shortly before the trip. Your pet travels beside you in the cabin, and officials at the private terminal inspect its papers after landing.
For the journey home, Britain does not list Türkiye among its approved pet travel countries. That means a blood test and, as a rule, a three month wait from the sample date before the animal may enter Britain, although a test taken before departure can spare the wait if Britain's conditions are met; ask your vet to confirm. Dogs must also be treated for tapeworm 24 to 120 hours before arrival, and only approved carriers and routes may be used, so we plan the return with your vet and the operator at the booking stage.

Bodrum by private jet: common questions
Where does a business jet land for the Bodrum peninsula?
Milas Bodrum Airport, BJV, about 36 kilometres north east of Bodrum town. Private passengers use its separate general aviation terminal, and Dalaman and Izmir are the alternates.
How long is the flight from the UK to Bodrum?
Around 4h 05m to 4h 10m from London, Oxford, Southampton and Jersey, 4h 15m to 4h 25m from Bristol, Cardiff, the Midlands and the North of England, and 4h 40m to 4h 45m from Scotland, Belfast and Dublin.
Is Bodrum airport open at night?
Yes. Milas Bodrum operates around the clock without a curfew, although slots are needed for every flight and summer evenings are busy.
Can the jet stay at Bodrum during our holiday?
For two or three days it usually can. For anything longer in the summer season we have to reserve a stand a week or more in advance, and when none is free the aircraft leaves and comes back.
What will we find in the Bodrum private terminal?
A separate building of 1,234 square metres with four lounges, wireless internet and drinks, where police and customs clear passengers, usually within 20 minutes from the aircraft to the car.
Can we fly from Istanbul to Bodrum on the same British jet?
No. Flights between two Turkish airports must be operated by Turkish companies, so we book that leg with a Turkish operator and the foreign jet flies home.
What does an empty leg to Bodrum cost?
Our table starts at about 8,300 GBP for a Citation CJ4 from Jersey and 8,400 GBP for a Phenom 300 from Biggin Hill, each for the whole aircraft. As ordinary charters, the jets in the table would cost from roughly 19,800 GBP up to 50,500 GBP on the same routes.
How do we reach Yalıkavak or Türkbükü from the airport?
By car in about 55 minutes to an hour, or by helicopter in roughly 10 to 15 minutes to a helipad, which we arrange together with the flight.
Is a visa needed for a Bodrum holiday?
No, not for British passport holders. Stays of up to 90 days in any 180 need no visa, provided the passport has at least 150 days left from the day of arrival.
When is the best time to find an empty leg?
Look at Saturdays and Sundays in high summer, and at the busy days just after Kurban Bayramı, when many aircraft fly out of Bodrum with nobody on board.
And if nothing is released for my dates?
Tell us the week, the number of guests and the part of the peninsula you are heading for. With dozens of jets landing each summer day, a matching sector often turns up at short notice.
Call +44 7857 574938 , message the same number on WhatsApp , or write to flight@empty-leg.co.uk . Tell us where on the peninsula you are staying, whether a yacht is involved, the dates, the size of the party and the luggage, and whether a pet comes too. Our answer sets the matching sectors against the full charter fares and covers the slot, where the aircraft will park and whether a car or a helicopter should meet you at the private terminal.
