Empty leg flights to and from Vienna

Vienna is one of the busiest business aviation cities in Europe, and unlike many airports in Germany and Switzerland, its airport stays open all night. Vienna International Airport, code VIE, lies at Schwechat, about 18 kilometres south east of the Stephansdom, and private passengers use a VIP and General Aviation Terminal of their own on the western edge of the airfield. A jet from London is in the air for a little over two hours, and several large Austrian charter operators keep their aircraft here, so sectors to and from Britain are released all year.

The city draws diplomats, bankers, congress delegates and music lovers in roughly equal measure, and its private traffic mixes all of them.

Vienna sectors available today

The first list shows every sector we hold that starts or ends at Vienna International Airport. When Vienna itself is quiet, it also shows flights into Bratislava, Vöslau and Linz, which can serve a trip to Vienna on the right day. The second list gives the charter price of the same aircraft between Britain and Vienna for the dates you choose, and that is the figure any empty leg has to beat.

Both columns assume an aircraft already at the departure airport, so no positioning flight is billed. Where an operator has to fly one in to collect you, a charter can run considerably higher than the figure shown. Prices also run in both directions: an empty leg exists only when an operator is moving that aircraft anyway, so the sector you want may run the other way this month. Tell us the route and we will watch both directions for you.

Set up an alert for Vienna

Most empty legs are gone within hours of being released, and a good number are never published at all. Tell us the route and the window you can travel in, and we will message you the moment a matching sector comes up between the UK and Vienna.

Please fill in both the departure and the arrival city.

Nothing is stored on this site. The button opens a chat with the message already written, and you send it yourself. We reply during office hours, 07:00 to 23:00, and check messages outside them too.

Why so many sectors touch Vienna

Vienna produces empty legs for reasons that go well beyond its size, and the largest of them is the fleet that lives at the airport.

Austrian operators based at Schwechat
Austria has an unusually large business jet industry, and much of it sits in Vienna. Avcon Jet, whose head office is in the city, brought its own air operator certificate and those of International Jet Management and JET24 under one system in October 2024 and manages more than 100 aircraft worldwide. MJET has operated from Vienna since 2007 with Gulfstream, Legacy and Airbus corporate jets. Each of these fleets flies out to collect clients and comes home empty, and those legs are sold.
The UN city
Vienna is one of the four main seats of the United Nations and the home of the IAEA, OPEC and the OSCE. Delegations, ministers and their advisers arrive for meetings and conferences and rarely keep an aircraft waiting for days, so positioning flights follow every large session.
Banking and the gateway to the east
Austrian banks and insurers do much of their business across central and eastern Europe, and many international firms run their regional offices from Vienna. A board meeting in the city on Monday and a site visit in Bratislava or Budapest on Tuesday leave a string of one way sectors behind.
Congresses, balls and the opera
Vienna hosts a long list of medical and scientific congresses at the Austria Center Vienna, and in January and February hundreds of balls, led by the Opera Ball, bring guests from all over the world. Many arrive privately, and aircraft return to base between the drop and the collection.
A crossroads for holiday flights
In summer the Vienna based fleet spends much of its time flying Austrian and central European clients to the Mediterranean, the Adriatic coast and the Alps. Aircraft that have dropped clients in Nice, Palma or Split often return to Vienna empty, and a British trip can be built around them.

Supply is steady through the week, with peaks on Mondays and Fridays and around the big congresses and the ball season. In July and August business traffic falls, but the holiday flights keep the based aircraft moving and the supply rarely dries up.

Vienna International Airport in detail

The airfield at Schwechat opened in 1938 and has been the civil airport of Vienna since the 1950s. Today it is by far the largest airport in Austria and a hub for Austrian Airlines. It has no night curfew, which sets it apart from Frankfurt, Hamburg or Zurich, but a mediation agreement with the surrounding communities limits how many aircraft may use it in the middle of the night.

Codes VIE (IATA) and LOWW (ICAO)
Location Schwechat, in Lower Austria, about 18 kilometres south east of the city centre
Opened 1938, with civil flights since the 1950s
Elevation About 183 metres, or 600 feet
Runways Two runways of 3,500 and 3,600 metres, 11/29 and 16/34, each 45 metres wide, with Category IIIB landing systems on runways 16 and 29 for fog
Owners Flughafen Wien AG, a listed company in which Lower Austria and the City of Vienna hold 20 per cent each and an employee foundation 10 per cent
Traffic A record 32.6 million passengers and 240,360 flight movements in 2025. Business aviation accounted for about 12,800 movements in the same year, with the Citation XLS the most common type
Business aviation The VIP and General Aviation Terminal at Niki Lauda Allee, object 140, in the west of the airport, about 3 kilometres from the passenger terminals
Terminal hours Handling is published from 06:00 to 22:30 on weekdays and from 06:00 to 21:00 at weekends, and later movements are handled on request
Handlers Vienna Airport FBO, owned by the airport, runs the terminal, and Jet Aviation and Magnum FBO also handle business aircraft at Vienna
Slots Every IFR business flight needs a slot on every day of the year, requested from the airport no earlier than 28 days ahead
Border and customs Austrian federal police and customs clear private passengers inside the terminal, including every flight from the UK
Third runway Approved after years of planning, but the airport dropped the project in November 2025

Private passengers never see the passenger terminals. The car turns off the main road into a courtyard in front of the building, the aircraft stands on an apron of its own beside it, and the whole passage usually takes minutes rather than an hour.

Night flights at Vienna

The night rules at Vienna are looser than at most large airports, which is useful for a late meeting or an early start. They still shape the timing of a private flight from Britain.

24 hours
No curfew
Vienna is open around the clock, and a private jet may land or take off at any hour if the handling and the slot are in place. For a meeting that runs late, that freedom is worth a great deal.
23:30 to 05:30
A yearly cap
Under the mediation agreement with the local communities, no more than 4,700 take offs and landings a year may use these six hours. Ambulance flights and movements forced by bad weather count towards the same total, and the airport plans its night traffic within it.
21:00 to 07:00
A quieter runway pattern
From 21:00 to 07:00 the airport follows a fixed night pattern set by the wind: runway 29 alone in westerly or calm conditions and, with an easterly wind, landings on 16 and take offs from 11. The pattern keeps aircraft away from the most populated areas.
Noise standard
Chapter 3 or better
Only aircraft certified to at least the ICAO Chapter 3 noise standard may use the airport. Every business jet on our lists meets that standard by a wide margin.
From London in the evening
Wheels up by about 19:00
Allow for the one hour time difference and a flight of about 2h 10m: a jet leaving London at 19:00 is on the ground at about 22:10 Vienna time, inside the published weekday handling hours. At weekends, when handling ends at 21:00, leave by about 17:45. A later landing is possible, but the handler has to agree it in advance and charges extra.
Back to London in the morning
Airborne from about 06:30
The terminal staff start at 06:00, so the first sensible departure is about 06:30, and with the time difference in your favour you land in London at about 07:40 British time.

Private jet cabin on a flight to Vienna

The VIP and General Aviation Terminal, from kerb to cabin

Vienna's private terminal opened in 2006, during the Austrian presidency of the EU, and is shared by business jet passengers and airline guests on the VIP Service. Heads of state, a pope and film stars have passed through it, and the routine for an ordinary private flight is just as smooth.

Getting to the terminal
The terminal stands at Niki Lauda Allee, object 140, about 3 kilometres west of the passenger terminals. From the city, take the A4 and then the S1 to exit 14, Schwechat Ost, and follow the B9 towards the airport and Fischamend; the building is on the right after about 3.5 kilometres. Give the driver the full address, because the terminal has its own entrance well away from the passenger buildings.
Parking and valet
The terminal has its own car park right beside the building, at about 50 euros a day. Staff can also take the car at the entrance or in the courtyard and park it for you, and have it cleaned or stocked with flowers and newspapers for your return.
Who runs the terminal
Vienna Airport FBO, founded in 1997, wholly owned by the airport and known until 2023 as Vienna Aircraft Handling, runs the building. Jet Aviation has worked from the same terminal since 2014 and maintains Citation, Challenger, Global and Gulfstream aircraft in its own hangar of 4,000 square metres, and the independent Magnum FBO, founded in 2012, keeps an operations team on call around the clock. Which of them looks after your flight is the operator's decision, and your booking confirmation names it.
Inside the building
The terminal covers about 3,000 square metres. Private passengers wait in lounges on the arrival and departure levels, and the building also has a panoramic lounge with a terrace over the airfield, conference rooms, changing rooms with showers and rest areas for crews. In February 2024 the lounges were enlarged to about 550 square metres and redecorated in a style the airport calls Golden Heritage, with details from Viennese Art Nouveau and works by contemporary Austrian artists.
The six VIP salons
Six private salons, each named after an Austrian composer, are given to one party at a time. A typical salon of about 40 square metres has a dining table, a sofa, a reading chair and its own washroom, and the minibar with champagne, wine and spirits is included in the price. They are sold mainly through the VIP Service, and we can ask the handler whether one is free for a private party.
Refreshments and Austrian classics
The lounges for private passengers offer drinks, snacks and magazines. Guests in the VIP salons on the Gold and Platin packages order from a seasonal à la carte menu that includes Austrian classics such as Schnitzel and Backhendl, the Viennese fried chicken. For a full meal on a private flight, the handler orders the catering from a caterer in the city.
A meeting between flights
The conference rooms in the terminal can be booked for a meeting on arrival or before departure, which saves the drive into town on a short visit. The handler sets up the room, the drinks and the car, and the terminal's own passport control is a few steps away when you leave.
Arriving from the UK
The jet parks on the terminal apron, which has 16 stands, and the handler collects you by car or walks you in. Austrian federal police examine the passports in the terminal itself, and anyone crossing into Schengen for the first time under the EES gives fingerprints and a facial image, children under 12 the image alone. A customs desk in the same building deals with goods to declare.
The baggage
The handler unloads the hold while the passports are checked and carries the bags to the car in the courtyard. On departure you hand the luggage over at the car; it is screened in the building and loaded straight into the hold, so there is no check in desk, no queue and no belt. Skis, golf bags, instruments and other bulky items are not part of the standard handling package, so mention them when you book.
The departure routine
About 30 minutes at the terminal is enough for a flight home, a little more on busy mornings. The exit is recorded at passport control, hand luggage goes through the terminal's own security point, and a car takes you across the apron to the aircraft. The terminal's electric Mercedes vans, added in 2024, carry up to six passengers each.
Hangar space for the aircraft
An aircraft staying in Vienna can use 16,000 square metres of heated hangars beside the terminal, large enough for types up to an Airbus A321. In winter a night under cover spares the crew the de icing before the flight home, which saves time on a frosty morning.
The VIP Service for airline passengers
Anyone in the party flying on a scheduled flight can use the same building. The airport's VIP Service includes a private salon, a personal attendant, check in and security in the terminal and a limousine to the aircraft. The 2026 prices, with VAT, are 480 euros for the first guest on the Silber package, 520 euros on Gold and 780 euros on Platin, with 288, 312 and 468 euros for each additional guest. The packages differ in the time allowed in the salon, the number of bags and extras such as à la carte dining and a shower from Gold upwards, and children under six go free. Silber and Gold can be booked without a surcharge until 48 hours before the flight, and Platin until 24 hours before.
Into the city
A chauffeur car booked through the handler waits in the courtyard and reaches the Ringstrasse in about 25 minutes. The City Airport Train runs from the passenger terminals to Wien Mitte in 16 minutes, but none of the trains stops at the private terminal, so after a private flight the car is the obvious choice.

How we prepare a Vienna flight

  • Slots for both directions. Vienna requires a slot for every business flight, so we request the arrival and the departure as soon as the aircraft is held, and keep the times within the 30 minute tolerance.
  • Handling after hours. For a landing after 22:30 on a weekday or 21:00 at the weekend, we agree the late handling and its cost with the terminal before the flight is confirmed.
  • The car in the courtyard. The driver receives the tail number, the slot and the handler's number, and follows the flight if it runs early or late.
  • Fog in the colder months. From November to February low cloud can sit over the Vienna basin for days, so we check that the crew and the aircraft are cleared for low visibility landings.
  • Bratislava as a second option. When a sector lands at Bratislava rather than Vienna, we book the car for the drive of about an hour into Vienna and arrange the passport checks at Bratislava for the flight home.
  • Balls, concerts and congresses. For the Opera Ball, the New Year's Concert or a large congress, we book the hotel, the car and, if needed, the tickets together with the aircraft.

Four points to agree before booking Vienna

A private trip to Vienna is simple once these four points are settled.

A slot on any day
Vienna coordinates business flights every day of the year. The request goes to the terminal's operations desk no earlier than 28 days ahead and before the flight plan is filed, and a flight more than 30 minutes away from its slot needs a new one.
The handling window
The runways never close, but the terminal staff work set hours. A late arrival from London is quite possible, provided it is agreed with the handler in advance.
Passport checks both ways
Austria is in Schengen and Britain is not, so every British passenger is checked on arrival and again on departure. The first entry since the EES began takes a little longer.
The Austrian flight levy
Austria charges 12 euros for each passenger leaving the country on a flight of 350 kilometres or more in an aircraft of over 2 tonnes. It covers every private jet flying home to Britain and is paid by the operator, then passed on in the price. Vienna Airport FBO can act as fiscal representative for foreign operators, so the levy is settled on the spot.

What a Vienna trip adds to the bill

Beyond the aircraft itself, Vienna adds little. The main extras are the two passenger taxes and a hotel tax that rises again in the summer of 2027.

12 euros
Austrian flight levy for each passenger on the flight back to Britain, with nothing due on the way in
Band A
for UK Air Passenger Duty on jets of 5.7 tonnes or more, as Vienna is under 2,000 miles from London
Handling and parking
charged by the handler per turnaround, with a daily fee for an aircraft that stays on the apron
Ortstaxe
the Vienna tourism tax, 5 per cent of the net room price since July 2026 and 8 per cent from July 2027

For a party of five flying home, the Austrian levy comes to 60 euros in all, and the operator settles it with the rest of the flight costs.

Air Passenger Duty is due on the departure from Britain. For Vienna it is 32 GBP a passenger on a jet of 5.7 to 20 tonnes and 142 GBP on a heavier one until the tax year closes on 31 March 2027, and from 1 April 2027 every private jet of 5.7 tonnes or more pays 146.63 GBP a passenger. Lighter jets such as the Citation M2 are exempt, and so are flights that begin in Jersey or Guernsey.

The Ortstaxe is worked out on the room price without VAT or breakfast and applies to business guests as well as tourists. On a suite at 600 euros a night it adds 30 euros today and 48 euros once the 8 per cent rate starts on 1 July 2027.

Bratislava, Vöslau and the other airfields near Vienna

For the city itself, Vienna International Airport is the natural choice. A few other airfields within reach of the capital matter on certain trips.

Vienna, LOWW. The main airport, with two runways of 3,500 and 3,600 metres, its own VIP and General Aviation Terminal and no curfew. Slots and the night cap are the only real constraints.
Bratislava, LZIB. The Slovak capital's airport lies about 50 kilometres east of Vienna Airport, with runways of 3,190 and 2,900 metres and a general aviation terminal of its own. Slovakia is in Schengen too, so passengers from Britain are checked there, and the drive into Vienna takes about an hour.
Vöslau, LOAV. A general aviation airfield near Baden, about 35 kilometres south of the city, with an asphalt runway of 950 metres. It suits the Citation M2 and similar light jets, is open from 09:00 to 20:30, and flights from outside Schengen have to be arranged in advance.
Wiener Neustadt East, LOAN. The home airfield of Diamond Aircraft lies about 50 kilometres south of Vienna, and light business jets use its asphalt strip of just over 1,000 metres. Border checks for flights from Britain are available by arrangement.
Linz, LOWL. About 180 kilometres west, with a runway of 3,000 metres and a base for light jet operators. It is too far for an everyday trip to Vienna, but it serves Upper Austria and is a useful alternate.

Chauffeur car waiting at the Vienna private terminal

From Schwechat to the Ring, the Danube and the vineyards

The car from the private terminal joins the A4 motorway and reaches the city along the Danube Canal or the Gürtel. The times below assume ordinary traffic; the morning and evening rush and big events can add 15 to 20 minutes.

Destination By car from the terminal Notes
Stephansplatz and the Innere Stadt About 25 minutes The Park Hyatt, the Rosewood and the shops of the Graben and the Kohlmarkt
The Opera and the Ringstrasse About 25 minutes The Sacher, the Bristol, the Imperial and the Palais Coburg
Vienna International Centre About 20 to 25 minutes The UN, the IAEA and the Austria Center Vienna, on the far bank of the Danube
Messe Wien and the Prater About 20 minutes The trade fair halls, the Ernst Happel Stadium and the giant Ferris wheel
Belvedere and the Hauptbahnhof About 20 minutes The palace gardens and the main railway station
Schönbrunn About 30 to 35 minutes The imperial summer palace in the west of the city
Grinzing and the Kahlenberg About 35 to 40 minutes Wine taverns and the vineyards on the edge of the Vienna Woods
Baden bei Wien About 30 minutes The spa town, its casino and the racecourse
Lake Neusiedl About 35 to 40 minutes The lake, its wineries and the sailing clubs of Burgenland
Bratislava old town About 45 minutes Across the border into Slovakia
The Wachau at Dürnstein About 1h 15m The Danube valley, its abbeys and its Grüner Veltliner

From the passenger terminals, a taxi takes 20 to 30 minutes to the centre, the City Airport Train runs non stop to Wien Mitte in 16 minutes, and Railjet trains reach the Hauptbahnhof in about 15. Neither train calls at the private terminal 3 kilometres away, so a car booked through the handler or the hotel is the way in.

For a day in the Wachau or on Lake Neusiedl, the driver can collect you straight from the aircraft and bring you back for the evening flight, with no hotel night needed.

Popular routes between the UK and Vienna, and which way they run empty

Nothing here is priced per passenger: each amount pays for the whole cabin on a flight whose operator would otherwise fly it with nobody aboard. The times cover take off to touchdown and leave out the drive. Because the types vary between a Citation M2 and a Challenger 350, distance alone does not decide which sector is cheapest. For fixed dates, the charter list higher up shows what the same aircraft costs in full.

Route In the air Empty leg from Season Which way it usually runs empty
London to Vienna 2h 10m 6,800 GBP All year Out to collect a banking client after a board meeting

Bristol to Vienna 2h 25m 5,800 GBP All year Out to collect an engineering team
Vienna to Liverpool 2h 25m 4,100 GBP All year Home after a Monday drop

Vienna sectors run in both directions. They cluster around Mondays and Fridays, the congress weeks, the ball season in January and February and the summer weekends, when the Austrian fleet shuttles between the city and the holiday coasts.

Border and customs rules for Vienna

Passports, customs and any tax refund forms are all handled inside the private terminal, usually within a few minutes.

  • The passport. A passport issued more than ten years before you land is refused in Austria, and so is one that runs out within three months of the day you plan to leave the Schengen area.
  • Time in Schengen. British visitors may stay up to 90 days in any 180, counted across all Schengen countries together, so days spent in Italy, Germany or Croatia earlier in the period reduce the time left for Vienna.
  • EES registration. The Entry/Exit System has covered every external Schengen border since 10 April 2026. At your first crossing the officers record four fingerprints and a facial image, with children under 12 giving the image alone, and the registration lasts three years.
  • ETIAS. Visitors from outside the EU will one day need this online approval, but the scheme has not begun, and in July 2026 its launch was put back to 2027. The fee is set to be 20 euros for three years of use.
  • Bringing goods into Austria. From the UK, each traveller aged 17 or over may bring 200 cigarettes, one litre of spirits or two litres of sparkling or fortified wine, four litres of still wine and 16 litres of beer, plus other goods up to 430 euros. Meat, milk and cheese from Britain are banned, and any cash of 10,000 euros upwards has to be declared to customs.
  • Tax free shopping. Austrian VAT is 20 per cent on most goods, and visitors living outside the EU can reclaim it on purchases of more than 75 euros on a single invoice. The goods must be unused and with you, and the forms need a customs stamp at the terminal before you fly.
  • Arriving back in Britain. On a private flight each adult may bring in goods worth 270 GBP, plus four litres of spirits, 18 litres of wine, 42 litres of beer and 200 cigarettes. Britain reclassifies some drinks on 1 October 2026, after which sparkling wine counts as wine and cider as beer.
  • Paying in Vienna. Austria uses the euro, and cards are taken almost everywhere, although some wine taverns, market stalls and coffee houses still like cash.

Very busyStrong
Business returns, the opera season opens, and the IAEA General Conference brings delegations from around the world.
October
BusyGood
Trade fairs, congresses and the Erste Bank Open tennis tournament keep the terminal busy, and autumn weekends in the city are popular.
November
BusyFair
A strong month for meetings. The Christmas markets open in the middle of the month, and fog becomes more frequent.
December
BusyFair
Christmas markets at the Rathaus and Schönbrunn draw visitors through the month, and the Kaiserball in the Hofburg closes the year.

Prices tend to be lowest on the day after a big congress or ball, when many aircraft leave at once, and on summer Sundays and Mondays, when the Vienna fleet comes home from the coasts. Midweek sectors appear in every season.

Three situations, three answers

A meeting in Vienna and home for dinner
A 07:00 take off from London means touchdown at Schwechat around 10:10 Vienna time and a first meeting in the Innere Stadt by 11:00. A departure at about 18:00 Vienna time puts you back in London just after 19:00 British time. Even if an empty leg covers only one of the two flights, booking the other at the normal charter price still leaves you well ahead.
A night at the Opera Ball
Book the aircraft, the hotel and the car together and early, because every room near the Ring goes weeks ahead. The morning after the ball most guests fly out at once, so a fixed return should be secured well in advance, while a flexible one can often use an aircraft that heads home empty the same day.
Vienna and Bratislava in one trip
Land at Vienna for meetings in the city, drive about an hour to Bratislava the next day and fly home from there, or the other way round. Two airports double the chance of finding an empty leg that fits.

Bringing a dog or cat to Vienna

Austria applies the EU rules to pets arriving from Britain. Your pet must be microchipped before its rabies jab, the jab must be at least 21 days old when you fly, and an official vet has to sign the animal health certificate during the ten days before departure. For owners who live in Britain, EU pet passports stopped counting for this journey on 22 April 2026. Aboard a private jet, pets normally stay with their owners in the cabin, and the documents are inspected by the officers at the terminal.

Dog in the cabin of a private jet to Vienna

Coming home needs more care. Only carriers approved by Britain may fly a pet into the UK, and a dog must have a tapeworm treatment from a vet between 24 and 120 hours before landing, so arrange a Vienna vet for the end of the stay. Cats are exempt from the tapeworm rule. In Vienna, dogs on public transport must be on a lead and muzzled. Tell us about the animal early, because not every operator carries pets.

Vienna by private jet: your questions answered

Where do private jets land for Vienna?
The main airport at Schwechat, VIE, whose private passengers go through a separate terminal in the western part of the site. Bratislava, Vöslau and Wiener Neustadt serve some trips as well.
How long does the flight from London take?
About 2h 10m from the London airports, 2h 15m to 2h 25m from the rest of England, from Wales and from Jersey, and 2h 40m to 2h 50m from Scotland, Belfast and Dublin. Vienna runs one hour ahead of Britain, so a jet airborne from London at 09:00 is on the ground at Schwechat at about 12:10 local time, early enough for lunch in the city.
Can we land at Vienna late at night?
Yes. The airport has no curfew, but the terminal publishes handling hours until 22:30 on weekdays and 21:00 at weekends, so a later arrival has to be agreed with the handler in advance. Between 23:30 and 05:30 the airport also works within a yearly cap on movements.
How far is the airport from the city?
About 18 kilometres, and around 25 minutes by car from the private terminal to the Ringstrasse in ordinary traffic.
Does a private flight need a slot at Vienna?
Yes, on every day of the year. We request the arrival and the departure slots as soon as the aircraft is held, up to 28 days ahead.
What lounges does the private terminal have?
The private terminal has its own lounges, a terrace over the airfield and showers, and the airport's VIP Service in the same building offers private salons to airline passengers from 480 euros.
What does an empty leg to Vienna cost?
The lowest figure in our table is about 4,100 GBP, for a Citation M2 heading from Vienna to Liverpool; towards Vienna, a CJ3 out of Biggin Hill at about 4,700 GBP is the cheapest, and each price covers the entire jet. Full charter prices on the same routes run from about 9,800 GBP to about 27,100 GBP.
Which taxes are added to a Vienna flight?
On the way out, Air Passenger Duty of 32 GBP a head on jets of 5.7 to 20 tonnes or 142 GBP on heavier types, which becomes 146.63 GBP for both from 1 April 2027. On the way back, Austria's levy of 12 euros a head. Hotels add the Vienna Ortstaxe.
What if Vienna is fogged in?
Both runways have Category IIIB systems in one direction, so most jets can still land in fog. If not, Bratislava is the usual alternate, about an hour from the city by car, and we arrange the car there before the flight.
How early should we reach the terminal?
For the flight home, half an hour before take off is usually enough, with a little extra on busy mornings. Passports, security and the drive to the aircraft are all handled from the one building, so there is no long walk to allow for.
Can we eat at the Vienna terminal?
The lounges have drinks and light bites, and guests in the VIP salons on the Gold and Platin packages can order from an à la carte menu. On a private flight, a full meal means catering on board or a table in the city, 25 minutes away.
May we bring our dog to Vienna?
Yes, provided it is chipped, was vaccinated against rabies at least three weeks earlier and travels with a health certificate from an official vet. Dogs also need a tapeworm treatment before the return, and the flight home must be with an operator approved by Britain, so mention it when you enquire.
And if nothing is released for my dates?
Give us the rough dates, the size of the party and how much the timing can move. With a large Austrian fleet based at Schwechat and Bratislava close by, a suitable sector often turns up within days.

Call +44 7857 574938 , message the same number on WhatsApp , or write to flight@empty-leg.co.uk . Name the hotel, the office or the venue, your preferred days, the number of passengers and bags, and any pet. Our answer lists the matching sectors next to the full charter price, together with the slot times, the handling window at Schwechat and the car that will meet you in the courtyard.
