Jersey is not part of the United Kingdom. It is a Crown Dependency with its own government, its own legal system and its own border service, and that single fact shapes more of a private trip here than the airport does. You will walk off the aircraft without an immigration queue, and you will still be subject to customs allowances on the way back, because the island sits inside the Common Travel Area but outside the UK for customs and VAT.
The flying is straightforward and the constraints are real. One runway of 1,705 metres, one executive handler for anything over three tonnes, a flying day that ends in the evening rather than at midnight, and an apron that genuinely runs out of room in August. None of that is a problem if you know it in advance, and all of it is a problem if you do not.
The board below shows what our operator network has released on Channel Islands routes. Two things are worth knowing before you read it. The Guernsey hop is fifteen minutes and starts at around 1,800 GBP for the whole aircraft, among the least expensive sectors we handle. And in July and August the board thins out sharply, because an island this size cannot park what wants to visit it.

Prices are for the whole aircraft and are shown in pounds. Some are indicative figures worked out from the distance and the class of jet; the firm price is confirmed with the operator when you send a request.
Guide prices for the whole aircraft, in pounds, on the corridors that produce repositioning sectors most often. These are not live offers and carry no dates: what is available right now is in the schedule on this page. The charter column is the same aircraft booked on your own dates.

Both columns assume an aircraft already at the departure airport, so no positioning flight is billed. Where an operator has to fly one in to collect you, a charter can run considerably higher than the figure shown. Prices also run in both directions: an empty leg exists only when an operator is moving that aircraft anyway, so the sector you want may run the other way this month. Tell us the route and we will watch both directions for you.
Most empty legs are gone within hours of being released, and a good number are never published at all. Tell us the route and the window you can travel in, and we will message you the moment a matching sector comes up at Jersey.

Three things move private aircraft in and out of the island, and the first of them has nothing to do with holidays.

The operational facts that decide whether an aircraft, a time and a route work at this field.
| Codes | JER (IATA), EGJJ (ICAO) |
| Location | The parish of St Peter, about five miles west of St Helier. Elevation 277 feet. It is the only airport on the island |
| Runway | A single runway, 08/26, 1,705 m or 5,594 feet, concrete and grooved asphalt. That is short: comparable to London City and several hundred metres less than a typical mainland regional field, which matters if you are being quoted a large aircraft |
| Approaches | Category one instrument landing only. There is no low visibility capability here, so sea fog genuinely closes the airport, and on the Channel Islands that is a real planning factor in spring and early summer |
| Aircraft size | Light and midsize jets are comfortable. Super midsize and heavy aircraft operate but with real performance limits, and the types most often seen here in 2025 were the Falcon 7X, the Citation Mustang and the Phenom 300, which is a fair picture of the spread |
| Operating hours | Seasonal rather than round the clock, broadly early morning to mid evening, longer in summer than in winter. The airport states that out of hours opening can be requested through your handling agent. It is neither impossible nor a twenty four hour field |
| Slots | Coordinated, and arranged by your handler with the flight. The handler describes them as readily available, which in practice means the summer peak is the only time they bind |
| Handling | One executive handling agent for passengers and aircraft. Everything over three metric tonnes goes through it; lighter aircraft park with the aero club. There is no second quote to obtain here |
| Charges | Landing and parking are paid at the FBO desk rather than billed separately, and the airport publishes its tariff each year. For 2026 the regulated increase was 4.6 per cent, with parking fees held flat |
| Ownership | Ports of Jersey, which also runs the harbours. Revenue goes back into island infrastructure rather than to a shareholder, which is why the tariff is published and explained rather than negotiated |
| Parking | The real constraint in high summer. Hangarage is available on request, and in July and August both it and the open stands need booking well ahead. That is being addressed: planning permission was granted in 2025 for a new business aviation facility with a 64,000 square foot hangar, ten metres of internal clearance and a 40,000 square foot apron extension |
This is the part that catches people out. Jersey is inside the Common Travel Area and outside the United Kingdom, and the two halves of that sentence pull in opposite directions.
There is one, it is the only FBO on the island, and the business behind it has been here since 1969 under one name or another. It moved out of the passenger terminal into a purpose built facility in 1995 and has extended it several times since, adding a suite of offices and an executive lounge whose design won industry recognition. The same company provides maintenance, hangarage and aircraft management alongside the handling, which on an island matters more than it would on the mainland.

A larger replacement is coming. In 2025 the Government of Jersey planning committee gave unanimous approval to a new business aviation facility here: a hangar of 64,000 square feet with ten metres of internal clearance, a new FBO building alongside it, and forty thousand square feet of additional apron. It will also house the island's air ambulance. When it opens, the summer parking squeeze becomes a smaller problem than it is today.
Fifteen minutes before departure is plenty at a field this size. With one handler there is nothing to choose between on an empty leg: the address and the crew contact appear in the flight brief and that is the whole of it.
Jersey is not the cheapest place in these islands to use privately, and it is one of the most transparent, which is a fair trade.
The last line deserves a moment. Air Passenger Duty on a departing passenger is a fixed sum that does not care whether the aircraft is full or nearly empty, and on a group leaving a UK airport it adds up. Leaving Jersey it does not arise at all. Against that, positioning is the line that dominates a charter from here, because almost nothing is based on the island and an aircraft has to be flown across to collect you. An empty leg removes the second problem while the first was never there.
Jersey has one airport and no alternatives on the island itself, which makes the neighbours more relevant than usual.
Jersey is nine miles by five, and that changes the arithmetic of everything. These are typical off peak times by road.
| Destination | By car | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| St Helier and the finance district | 10 to 15 min | Five miles east. Longer in the summer season, when the island's roads carry visitors as well as residents |
| St Aubin and the south west bays | 10 to 15 min | The airport is already in this corner of the island |
| St Brelade's Bay | 5 to 10 min | Effectively next door, and where a good share of arriving passengers are actually going |
| Gorey and the east coast | 25 to 35 min | Across the island, which on Jersey means crossing the whole thing |
| The north coast cliffs | 20 to 30 min | Narrow lanes rather than distance is what slows this one down |
| Guernsey | Not by car | Fifteen minutes by air or about an hour and a half by fast ferry |
Nowhere on Jersey is more than about thirty five minutes from the airport, which removes a whole category of decision. There is no question here of choosing a field closer to your destination, because there is no other field and no destination is far away.

A handful of routes generate sectors week after week while most produce nothing at all. These are the first kind. The shape of this list is unusual in one respect: Paris is closer than most of England, which is worth remembering when a mainland meeting could be held in either country.
| Destination | Flight time | Empty leg from | Peak | Which direction runs empty |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Guernsey | 0h 15m | 1,800 GBP | All year | Both, and constantly. Fifteen minutes in the air, among the cheapest sectors we place, and a standard pairing for anyone visiting both islands in a day |
| Bristol | 0h 45m | 3,200 GBP | All year | Both. The nearest English field and a corridor crossed several times a week |
| London | 0h 50m | 3,200 GBP | All year, weekdays | Both. Advisory and finance traffic, and the route that fills the calendar outside summer |
| Cardiff | 0h 50m | 3,200 GBP | All year | Both. Quieter than the London corridor and correspondingly easier to catch |
| Paris | 0h 55m | 2,600 GBP | All year | Both. Fifty five minutes to Le Bourget, and closer than most of England |
| Manchester | 1h 05m | 3,200 GBP | All year | Both. Domestic business with a summer leisure overlay |
| Liverpool | 1h 10m | 3,200 GBP | May to September | Both. Low frequency, and worth registering rather than watching |
| Dublin | 1h 15m | 2,000 GBP | All year | Both. Financial services traffic in both directions |
| Amsterdam | 1h 15m | 2,300 GBP | All year, weekdays | Both. Corporate day returns and the European hub for onward travel |
| Edinburgh | 1h 20m | 3,200 GBP | All year | Both. Fund administration at either end keeps this alive through the year |
| Leeds | 1h 20m | 3,200 GBP | May to September | Mostly back to Jersey. Summer leisure rather than business |
| Glasgow | 1h 25m | 3,400 GBP | All year | Both. The same financial pattern as Edinburgh at lower frequency |
| Belfast | 1h 25m | 3,400 GBP | May to September | Mostly back to Jersey. A summer route rather than a working one |
| Newcastle | 1h 30m | 3,700 GBP | May to September | Mostly back to Jersey. The longest domestic hop on the list |
| Geneva | 1h 30m | 4,700 GBP | All year | Both. Private banking traffic, and one offshore centre talking to another |
| Milan | 1h 45m | 4,200 GBP | All year | Both. Business rather than leisure from the island |
| Nice | 1h 45m | 5,500 GBP | May to September | Both. Second homes and yachts at the far end |
| Palma de Mallorca | 2h 00m | 6,300 GBP | June to September | Back to Jersey. Friday out and Sunday back are the expensive halves |
| Faro | 2h 05m | 8,500 GBP | April to October | Both. Golf traffic keeps this running well outside the summer peak |
| Malaga | 2h 20m | 9,200 GBP | April to October | Both, and like Faro it runs for seven months rather than a summer |
There is no New York and no Dubai in that table, and the runway is the reason. At 1,705 metres a long range jet cannot leave Jersey with the fuel it would need, so an intercontinental trip starts from the mainland. That is not a compromise worth arguing about: Farnborough and Le Bourget are each under an hour away and both are places aircraft already are.

If you want to see what your route would cost as a standard charter, so you have something to measure an empty leg against, use the calculator below. Fill in the airports, the dates and the number of passengers, add any preference on aircraft type, and we will send a written calculation by email or messenger. Please check your contact details carefully so that we can reply quickly.
The figure the calculator returns is an estimate for planning. The firm quote comes back from our consultants with the cost broken out line by line, and the price agreed there is the price written into the contract.

If you would rather skip the arithmetic, send us the route and the dates instead and a consultant will come back with both numbers, the charter price and any empty leg that fits.
The island runs its own border service, so the rules here are Jersey's rather than Britain's. Most of them are simpler, and one of them is easy to get wrong.
Jersey runs on two calendars that barely overlap. The finance industry flies steadily all year, and the island fills with visitors from May to September. The second one is what makes summer difficult and the shoulder months worth waiting for.
September, April and October are the months to aim for, with March and November close behind. July and August are the ones to plan around, and for a reason that has nothing to do with price: the island is small, the apron is finite and the flying day is short. All three of those bite hardest in the same eight weeks.
Tell us your route - we'll respond within the hour.
This is one of the easiest places in these islands to bring an animal. There are no restrictions at all on pets coming directly into Jersey from the United Kingdom, the other Channel Islands or the Isle of Man. No approved route, no approved operator, no paperwork window to hit.

From the Republic of Ireland a valid pet passport is required, and from anywhere further afield the usual scheme applies. Going the other way, the destination sets the rules, and returning to Great Britain from Jersey falls under the same simple arrangement. Tell us the animal is coming and there is genuinely very little to arrange.
