Liam has twelve years in the industry, longer than anybody else on the consulting side, and the empty leg board is his. He decides which repositioning sectors we take from operators, what they are offered at, and which ones are not worth putting in front of anybody. If you are reading this site because of the flights on the front page, he is the reason they are there.
He works in English, Polish and Ukrainian. Poland has become one of the faster growing charter markets in Europe and a good deal of central European repositioning runs through it. Ukrainian airspace has been closed to civil aviation since 2022, so for anyone travelling to or from that part of the world the practical routing is into eastern Poland and onward by road, and he will tell you that rather than quote you something that cannot fly.
An operator tells us an aircraft is going somewhere empty. Liam looks at the routing, the timing and how much of it is genuinely flexible, then decides whether it is worth listing. A sector that leaves at four in the morning from an airport nobody wants, or one the operator will withdraw the moment a paying charter appears, is not a bargain and does not go up.
That is also why the board is shorter than it could be. Listing everything would be easy and would waste your time.
There is a point at which chartering repeatedly costs more than having an aircraft available to you, and it arrives sooner than most people expect. If you are flying the same routes often enough to wonder about it, Liam will do the arithmetic with you honestly, including the case where the answer is that you should carry on chartering.
